Phew finally got out for a run
Went for a nice jungle run down in austin with Stroker, we probably went about 3 miles or so. But it was so nice to get away from the sidewalk and get out for a trail run. I really wish I was closer to some nice trails, I feel like those runs are always better and easier to get lost in your run exploring the scenery.

Lakefront Run
Got out for a 4.5 mile run today, down on the lakefront with monica and scott. It was pretty miserable running north towards downtown, but on the way back with the wind not in my face and sun shining it was pretty good run.

Oh no back down to run number 1
I went home this weekend and just didn't get the chance to get out for a run, so I had to end my streak at 33 days in a row. But I went for a brief run to the yoga center and back, as well went to a great yoga class this evening. Not to long before the shamrock shuffle, I will need to start training harder for that race if I want to reach my pace of 7:20 for the 8k.

Trying to keep on going, but I have been feeling a little sick so its not as easy. But I went out for two 2 mile runs. Need to start training for the race in april, maybe start a training plan soon.

26.2 miles in DETROIT!
I have been thinking about where i want to run my marathon this year, and I decided that detroit is where it all started and that I would really love to finish my 1st marathon there this fall. So I am all signed up to run the Detroit Free Press Marathon again.

Went out tonight for a short run, feeling really shitty. Then ended up going an extra few miles and returned with a smile and my legs felt better than before I ran. I switched it up to the vibrams which really helped.

Wahooo!! After a weekend of questionable runs, I wanted to get out there and push it. So I went for the longest run in a long while, and the great thing is it turned out to be my best run as well. Wahooo!!! It was so great, I did a 3 mile loop, and had about even times both times through.

So it was going to be tight getting off and going to the autoshow, so I ran to the train stop a mile down the road and then met up with craig. Then tonight I went to take my car in and ran the 3 miles back. Tomorrow is going to be tricky though. Maybe quick morning run.

Went to yoga but I ran there, nor far but still motivated myself enough to run there.

Slow pace, but it was really hard to get out there so overall proud that I made it to day 10! woot.

Day 7 and 8
Made it out for a brisk run on saturday morning about a mile. Then Sunday made up for it with my longest run in a while. 3.9 at a 7:35 pace nothing amazing but still felt good to get out, its so nice here today in the high 40s. Way to go with the 7:15 pace I see I am going to have to get faster before we race again. ha

as for me, ran 4 miles today at 7:11 pace and i was pumped! it was hard, but im looking to up my mileage and keep my pace around 7:15.

Woot its snowing like mad out there but I got out for my daily 2 miles. Felt great running in the snow, its pretty tough like being a on the beach in some spots.

30 days of running
Trying this thing again:
The goal is to run everyday for the next 30 days. No set distance just have to get out for a run 5 minutes is the minimum I suppose. I am just trying to get motivated to get outside so when it gets warmer I can start training for some bigger runs and already be in the rhythm of going out for a run everyday.

Saturday
It was really hard to get motivated to get out this week and especially on Saturday, but I am glad that I did. I only went for 2 miles, but that has kind of been my new thing. I try to push myself to get out and atleast do a mile or 2 each day. I mostly have been going short distances because of the weather and b/c i am still having a lot of knee pain after my runs. I have been trying to do stretches and strengthening exercises to help, but still pretty hard for me to stand up for log periods of time.

Run Mon & Tues
Monday - Ran a 5k in the gym in 21:39 and on tuesday ran 2 mile on the track in 14:40 and one mile on the elliptical. trying to do more strength work and core stuff. going to write myself a work out plan tomorrow to make sure i get back in the swing of doing tempos / long runs / fart leks every week. Time to get serious and pick a 5k to run! Also a half marathon.. can't wait.

Chilly 2

2.5 blah
dont know why i thought i could run in the morning. didnt get out till 9 and it was still tough. yuck. they say it takes doing it at least 10 times for it to feel like a habit though so maybe i have to push through - but im just not sure if morning running is for me.
went 2.5 miles. run in same smart wool and under armor outfit as last run (ew right?) and ran in my nike's and stabilites. not so sure how i feel about those inserts :-/. want to get back to five finger running.....

4 mile ish
ran out in the cold today too - but i had two thin layers of smart wool that kept me more than toasty. i am ever-impressed by that magical fabric.
i ran in my nike structure triax - ive switched out of my favorite kinvaras because they are just not enough support for my poor weak feet right now.
immensely enjoyed my run even though it was super slippery here too -
had to take it slow on some parts but over all had a good quick pace.
ran for 32 minutes - dont know how far. will measure later.

Brisk Run
Overall an ok run, happy to get out and run even though it is a little cold. Tried to really concentrate on form but unleveled and slippery roads made it difficult.

Good run. It was nice to get out and start running again or at least just nice to get out of the house at all. I took it pretty slow and tried to concentrate on my form and not worry about how far or how fast i was going. I didn't stretch at the end and woke up the next day sore, definitely need to start stretching more.

New Year Goals
The new year is here and I am excited to start setting up some races and goals to shoot for since I have more free time to get out and run.
1. conquer winter blues, try to run everyday even if it is only for 5 or 10 minutes.
2. start doing more core and strengthening exercises (yoga?)
3. tack off a marathon this summer, maybe i'll work up to it but i definitely need to start training for the Ironman
