1. because you can.
2. because others can't.
3. because every mile put in now is a mile that's easier later in the marathon.
4. because it's the chance to devote 40 minutes to yourself and reflect.
5. or it's 40 minutes to zone out.
6. it's an excuse to take your shoes off.
7. sometimes your shirt too.
8. and sweat all you want.
9. and feel the breeze on your face.
10. and because it's FUN. :-)
